Black stoneware lidded vessel with the lid having a porcelain 'shard'
This piece was inspired by a days hiking up The Merrick in the Galloway Forrest early 2021. Snow was still present on top and from the hills and breaking through them, black rocks. The stark contract of the harsh rocks and soft snow gave me this idea. To experiment with this concept. Sharp, angular forms and have these ‘shards’ of contrasting materials sticking out of the piece.
Glazed in Celadon.
