Statement

Robert Hunter is a ceramic artist based in York, working primarily in stoneware and porcelain. Through wheel-thrown vessels, he explores the relationship between landscape, material and process, incorporating granite, wood ash and wild clays gathered through travel and research. His work balances function with experimentation, using the vessel to explore the possibilities of material, surface and atmospheric firing.
