Firstly, I would like to say a massive thank you to Maria De Haan for showing me this process. I wouldn't have been able to make work like this without her tuition.
I created a mixture of smoke-fired groggy and porcelain work during my time in Mallorca but sadly it all sold before I had a chance to photograph them properly. Since my time with Maria, I have successfully smoke-fired my own work and am planning on creating more work like this in the future with the addition of my own natural glaze.
The work below is a mixture of work from Mallorca and my own firing. The two white groggy smoked vessels are from my time with Maria and the grey clay smoked bowl is from my own first firing.
